Caribbean rum

The Caribbean islands are traditionally known to be the birthplace of sugar cane cultivation and thus rum making. This region of the world is made up of a myriad of Islands which explain the great diversity of Caribbean rums. The Caribbean were divided into areas of political influence by the trio of great colonizing nations Spain, France and England, which led to the emergence of styles of rums according to the Islands: (Rums of Spanish tradition, Rums of French tradition and Rums of British tradition). The 3 main rum manufacturing techniques are used in Caribbean rums, rum is made from molasses, it is a so-called "traditional" rum, but also based on pure cane juice, it is rum Agricultural, there is also an AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) for rums from Martinique, then finally rums made from cane honey.
