Opthimus 15-Year-Old Rum is an amber rum from the Dominican Republic, crafted in the tradition of the great Hispanic-style rums. Produced from molasses and in partnership with Oliver & Oliver, it is aged using the Solera method in oak casks that previously held bourbon. At 38 per cent ABV, it offers a rounded and generous profile, characterised by notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, coffee and chocolate. The palate is smooth, silky and complex, with lovely oak notes. An ideal rum for sipping, to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or as a digestif.

Description
Opthimus 15-Year-Old Rum (70 cl ) is a benchmark amongst Dominican Republic rums. Produced in partnership with Oliver & Oliver, it follows the great tradition of Hispanic-style rums, characterised by their roundness, smoothness and aromatic richness.
Made from molasses, Opthimus 15 Year Old is aged using the Solera method in American oak casks that previously held bourbon. This ageing process helps to develop a particularly harmonious profile, where woody notes blend with indulgent, pastry-like aromas. It is bottled at 38% ABV in a 70 cl bottle.
On tasting, the nose is rich and expressive, with aromas of vanilla, honey, caramel and sugar cane, complemented by hints of fruit, coffee and chocolate. The palate is round, supple and generous. The indulgent flavours are balanced by a hint of oak and subtle spicy notes.
The finish is lingering and retains a pleasant pastry-like quality. This aged Dominican rum is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature, to fully appreciate its aromatic richness. It can also be served with a large ice cube.
Opthimus 15 Years Old will appeal to lovers of rounded, approachable and complex rums, who are looking for a sumptuous spirit to round off a meal or accompany a tasting session.
