The name Traigh Bhan refers to a beach on Islay known as ‘Singing Sands’. This third release in the Ardbeg collection showcases a subtle balance between the distillery’s signature smokiness and the richness of Oloroso sherry casks. On the nose, wood smoke mingles with the freshness of sea spray, pine resin, citrus and aniseed caramel. Adding a little water can bring out waxy, charred notes and hints of sherry. On the palate, the full-bodied texture gives way to gentle peaty smoke, tar, molasses, aniseed and nuts. The finish lingers with notes of bitter almonds and cloves.
