Created for Ardbeg Day 2023, this Scottish single malt is distinguished by an unusual distillation process: the absence of the traditional still purifier. This technical choice alters the selection of aromatic compounds in the distillate and results in a deliberately more intense expression of Ardbeg’s character.

The nose reveals pronounced peaty smoke, enriched with fresh notes of mint and eucalyptus, as well as herbaceous aromas. On the palate, the flavour profile expands with nuances of black pepper, dark chocolate and spices. The vegetal notes add an extra dimension to the smoke, whilst the texture and lingering aroma emphasise the whisky’s personality. The long, intense finish leaves a lingering impression of peat and pepper.

This expression is particularly aimed at Islay whisky enthusiasts seeking powerful, smoky and unconventional profiles.
