Clos René 2020 is an exceptional Pomerol, produced from an iconic terroir within the appellation, where Merlot dominates the blend, complemented by a touch of Cabernet Franc. This 2020 vintage, marked by sunny weather and cool nights, offers a deep ruby colour and a complex nose combining aromas of prune, blackcurrant, black truffle and a touch of cocoa. These notes are reminiscent of the richness of the great wines of Pomerol, with subtle minerality and aromatic finesse.

On the palate, the attack is silky and generous, with flavours of black cherry, wild blackberry and a hint of liquorice. The deep, velvety tannins harmonise with a long, spicy finish, ideal for accompanying a rack of lamb with herbs, duck breast or mature cheeses (Saint-Marcellin, aged Comté). This wine, vinified with artisanal expertise, combines power and elegance, characteristic of the great Pomerols.

Clos René 2020 can be enjoyed now for its vibrant fruit, but it will gain complexity after 5 to 10 years of ageing, developing aromas of leather and blond tobacco.
