Château Vray Croix de Gay 2019: Organic Pomerol from a Historic Bordeaux Vineyard

Château Vray Croix de Gay 2019 is a red Bordeaux wine produced in the prestigious Pomerol appellation, on the Right Bank of the Gironde.

The estate covers just 3.67 hectares, divided between two vineyard areas located near Château Lafleur and Château Trotanoy.

Its clay-gravel soils provide favourable conditions for Merlot, the dominant grape variety in the 2019 blend.

This vintage combines 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The estate has been certified organic since 2018.

Following careful vinification, the wine is matured in oak barrels, including 40% new oak, 50% one-year-old barrels and 10% two-year-old barrels.

The nose reveals ripe black fruit, liquorice and vanilla.

On the palate, the wine is generous and silky, with refined tannins and an elegant structure. The finish develops mineral notes, tobacco and coffee.

Awarded 93/100 by Le Figaro Vin and one star in the Guide Hachette des Vins, this Pomerol offers excellent ageing potential.

It pairs beautifully with grilled beef, roast lamb or duck breast.
