Description
In the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine Musset-Roullier produces L’Orchère Anjou Blanc Demi-Sec, a cuvée that showcases Chenin Blanc in a generous and fresh style. Classified as an AOC Anjou Blanc, this wine is made from 100 per cent Chenin, the iconic grape variety of the Loire Valley’s white wines, renowned for its ability to express the terroir and produce wines with varied profiles, ranging from dry to sweet.
What sets L’Orchère apart is, in particular, its plot-by-plot origin. The vines are planted on schist soil, characteristic of many terroirs in Anjou. Domaine Musset-Roullier pays particular attention to its plots and to the expression of the soils in order to preserve the personality of each cuvée.
On tasting, L’Orchère reveals a fruity and indulgent bouquet. Ripe peach and orchard fruits mingle with notes of exotic fruits, particularly pineapple. On the palate, the wine has a round and pleasant texture, accompanied by a freshness that helps to balance the sweetness. The result is an expressive, accessible and harmonious semi-dry white wine, which emphasises the fruit without compromising on liveliness.
Its profile lends itself to a wide range of food pairings. It pairs beautifully with foie gras, sweet-and-savoury dishes, mildly spiced Asian dishes or white meats served with a fruity sauce. It also pairs well with desserts made with peaches, pears or pineapple, as well as fruit tarts.
To fully appreciate its aromas, serve L’Orchère chilled, ideally at around 8 to 10 °C. This temperature brings out the fruit whilst maintaining a sense of freshness.
Available in 75 cl bottles, this cuvée from Domaine Musset-Roullier will appeal to lovers of semi-dry white wines seeking a fruity, round and well-balanced Chenin from the Loire.
