The color of this Baron d'Ardeuil Buzet Red Wine, old vines of the Buzet winegrowers, is a very deep ruby red. The powerful nose clearly evokes blackcurrant then notes of wood and toasted. the mouth is powerful like the nose, the woody notes are fully expressed with very extracted tannins. The finish is slightly spicy. A hunter's wine !! Two of Jeanne d'Arc's three "lieutenants" are from the Buzet region: Poton de Xaintrailles and La Hire. According to Jeanne's mythology, Xaintrailles had his own lieutenant. He was so valiant, so full of ardor and pride, that Poton ennobled him and baptized him "D'Ardeuil -" Name superb and full of presence. His memory still haunts the beautiful hills of the region, including a plot, named Ardeuil, still honors the memory of the Baron. Buzet has been an AOC since 1973.
