Description

LaGrande Cuvée du Domaine de L'Hortus Red has a nose marked by dried fruit, liquorice, violets and a hint of menthol.n the mouth, this Pic Saint Loup red wine is round, with silky tannins and notes of liquorice and dried fruit, underlined by pronounced vanilla notes. This wine is made from vines grown with very low yields to encourage concentration. (The wine is aged in new barrels for 18 months.

Domaine de l'Hortus is located in the Languedoc region in the hills behind Montpellier, close to the Pic Saint Loup and Mont Hortus. VisitDomaine de l'Hortus isone of the emblematic estates of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellationand has made the reputation of Pic St Loup.

TheOrliac family took what many considered to be a crazy gamble in the early 90s, but this estate of50 hectares of limestone facing north-east has turned out to be a marvel.
