The wines of the French South West region covers 13 departments

The South West vineyard is very scattered, it stretches from the Basque Country to the Cahors and Marcillac vines. The majority of the production is devoted to red wines, Cahors, Bergerac, Madiran, Buzet but the white wines of the southwest are more and more sought after with spearheading the white wines of Gascony including UBY and Tariquet for dry white wines. and fruity or even Jurançons, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh and Monbazillac offer high quality sweet wines.

Other lesser-known appellations deserve special attention, Côtes du Marmandais, Marcillac, Pécharmant, Irouléguy in the Basque country, Fronton north of Toulouse.
