Bouscassé’s 2023 Pinot Noir: elegance, freshness and precision

The 2023 Bouscassé Pinot Noir boasts a brilliant ruby-red colour with garnet highlights. The nose is refined and expressive, dominated by black cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and wild flowers. Upon aeration, notes of thyme, grey pepper, forest floor and a subtle hint of oak emerge.

The winemaking process includes cold pre-fermentation maceration, rigorous selection of the berries using optical sorting, controlled fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. Ageing, carried out partly in new barriques (around 60 per cent), lends depth and elegance without masking the fruit’s expression. On the palate, the wine is harmonious, silky and perfectly balanced. The tannins are fine, the texture is fresh and the long finish reveals nuances of red fruit, spices and warm stone. This Pinot Noir has excellent ageing potential and can develop over several decades.

Served at between 15 and 16 °C, it is the ideal accompaniment to duck breast, veal fillet, roast poultry, rack of lamb or wild mushrooms.
