Jean Goyard is at the origin of the Goyard distillery

This distillery started modestly in 1911. At that time, champagne was in crisis, could not find to sell its production and stocks went to the gutter. Mr Goyard then offered his services to distill these wines which did not find a buyer. This brandy thus obtained is used as a basis for the elaboration of ratafia, the distillation of what remains after pressing of the grapes is used as a basis for Marc de Champagne. Today this century-old house still offers its services to champagne winegrowers who wish to distill on an ad hoc basis.

Maison Goyard produces its own Ratafias and Marc de Champagne.
