Description
Stéphane DERENONCOURT advised Domaine de Bargylus to produce this magnificent 2016 Red wine, produced on the slopes of Mount Bargylus in Syria, is a unique wine reflecting the exceptional terroir of this region. This blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot has been carefully vinified before being matured for 14 months in French oak barrels, a third of which are new. It has a deep purple colour and a rich nose, combining aromas of ripe black fruit, such as blackberry and blackcurrant, with hints of oriental spices and violets. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture, well-integrated tannins and balanced freshness, finishing long and persistent. This vintage is a testament to Syria's unique winemaking potential, combining tradition and modernity.
