Description

This MONTRACHET MARQUIS de LAGUICHE 2019 is a marvel, a wine of exceptional length, a wine that develops an incredible richness and variety of aromas. This Grand Cru will aim for a cellaring period of several decades.

Of course the harvest is done manually in small boxes, the grapes are sorted drastically, the pressing is done very slowly and the aging is carried out in old oak barrels (0% new barrels), so that the wood does not take the top on the land, 15 to 18 months.

Since 1947, the Joseph Drouhin house has been exploiting this 2.06 hectare plot in the middle of the Grands Crus of Montrachet. This plot is owned by 14 owners, including the Laguiche family since 1363, which holds the vast majority. The Chardonnay finds there all the conditions to express itself to perfection, a gentle slope, an exposure to the south, the ground is only pebbles and limestone. Nothing should grow there, besides that is what the word redeem means. Montrachet is therefore the mountain where nothing should grow, a very poor place.
