Discover the Arbois Blanc Typé Tradition from Domaine Jacques Tissot, a dry white wine that expresses the full character of the Jura vineyards. This traditional cuvée blends Chardonnay and Savagnin, two iconic grape varieties of the region. The Chardonnay brings finesse, freshness and notes of white fruit, whilst the Savagnin develops characteristic aromas of nuts, almonds and spices thanks to its ageing under a veil of yeast. On the palate, the wine combines aromatic richness with a lovely length. It is the perfect accompaniment to fish, seafood, poultry in cream sauce and Jura cheeses, particularly Comté.
Description
The Domaine Jacques Tissot is one of the wineries that contribute to the reputation of Arbois wines. Founded in 1962, the estate has developed a range that showcases the region’s grape varieties and traditional methods. The Arbois appellation, situated in the Jura wine region, is particularly renowned for its expressive white wines and its ageing techniques, which can give rise to distinctive aromatic profiles.
The Arbois Blanc Typé Tradition is based on a blend of two complementary grape varieties. Chardonnay, which has long been grown in the Jura, brings freshness, finesse and aromas of white fruit, citrus and flowers. Savagnin, the iconic grape variety of the Jura vineyards, lends greater structure and, when aged under a veil of yeast, can develop characteristic notes of nuts, almonds and spices.
On the palate, this type of wine reveals a complex bouquet where fresh fruit meets richer, more indulgent notes of dried fruit. On the palate, it combines fullness, liveliness and lingering aromas. Its distinctive character makes it an excellent choice for lovers of terroir-driven white wines seeking a different expression from the classic whites of Burgundy or the Loire Valley.
At the table, it pairs beautifully with fish in sauce, crayfish, langoustines and poultry in a creamy sauce. It also goes very well with regional specialities, such as mature Comté, Morbier or dishes featuring mushrooms and morels. For optimal enjoyment, open the bottle a little before serving and serve at between 12 and 14 °C.
This Arbois Blanc Typé Tradition from Jacques Tissot is an invitation to discover the richness of Jura wines and their remarkable blend of fruit, complexity and regional character.
