Description
Engenhos do Norte Madeira 2010-2021 Full Proof Rum, IGP Madeira Agricole Rum. This rum was distilled on April 23, 2010, and bottled 11 years later on October 11, 2021, from cask number 190.
The nose of this beautiful rum from the independent bottler Le Gus't evokes dried fruits (walnuts, hazelnuts), as well as red fruits and vanilla. The second nosing brings more maritime notes.
On the palate, dried fruits and candied fruits are confirmed, then give way to vanilla, red fruits, and salty, iodine notes. Certainly influenced by the powerful sea winds on this island.
The island of Madeira is entirely legitimate when it comes to rum production. In fact, it dates back to the 15th century to find the first sugar cane cultivation on the island. It wasn't until the 16th century that the first distilleries were established.
