Description

Armand de Brignac Rosé: Luxury Champagne Crafted with Old-Vine Pinot Noir

Armand de Brignac Rosé is a prestigious Champagne produced by the Cattier family in Chigny-les-Roses, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.

Recognised internationally for its distinctive metallic pink bottle and Ace of Spades emblem, this cuvée combines traditional Champagne craftsmanship with an expressive, fruit-driven style.

The Rosé is created from the three classic Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier.

According to the current producer's technical information, the blend consists of 55% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier.

The Champagne's distinctive colour and aromatic richness come from the addition of 18% still red wine.

This red wine is produced from old-vine Pinot Noir grown in the Montagne de Reims.

The concentration of these grapes contributes depth, structure and intense red fruit aromas to the finished Champagne.

Pinot Noir provides body and aromatic complexity, while Meunier adds roundness and generous fruit character.

Chardonnay contributes elegance and freshness, helping to balance the richness of the red grape varieties.

Another important feature of Armand de Brignac is its multi-vintage blending philosophy.

The house combines wines from three different harvests, allowing the winemaking team to bring together complementary characteristics.

This approach contributes to the consistency and complexity of the finished cuvée.

Only the first and freshest portion of the grape pressing is selected for the production of Armand de Brignac Champagnes.

The wines then undergo secondary fermentation in bottle, followed by extended maturation on the lees.

The Rosé benefits from at least three years of lees ageing, which contributes to its refined texture and aromatic development.

The house also uses a distinctive dosage wine that has been aged for one year in new French oak.

This technique adds subtle complexity, including delicate pastry and toasted notes.

The current Rosé has a dosage of 8.5 grams per litre, placing it within the Brut category.

In the glass, Armand de Brignac Rosé displays a luminous pink colour.

The bouquet opens with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant.

Delicate floral notes and subtle spice provide additional aromatic complexity.

On the palate, the Champagne is vibrant yet silky.

Layers of red berries, ripe cherry and blood orange develop alongside a refreshing structure.

The texture is generous, while the acidity maintains balance and elegance.

The finish is long, refined and persistent.

Its combination of freshness and structure makes this Champagne particularly suitable for gastronomic food pairings.

Tuna crudo is an excellent choice, allowing the wine's vibrant character to complement the delicate texture of the fish.

Pan-seared duck breast provides a richer pairing, bringing out the Champagne's depth and red fruit expression.

Wild salmon and Iberian ham are equally attractive options.

For an original sweet-and-savoury combination, strawberries with balsamic vinegar can highlight the wine's natural berry aromas.

Armand de Brignac Rosé is also suitable for serving as an aperitif at special celebrations.

A serving temperature of approximately 8–10°C helps preserve its freshness while allowing the full aromatic profile to develop.

With its distinctive presentation, multi-vintage complexity and expressive Pinot Noir character, Armand de Brignac Rosé offers a memorable interpretation of prestige rosé Champagne.
