Motosaburo Miyashita and Kamezo Miyashita are 2 brothers faced with the death of their father at an early age. Entrusted to a relative with a management position in a famous Japanese brewery, the 2 brothers developed a taste for the trade. In 1915, they set up their own brewery called Miyashita sake brewery, which later became a distillery. The first Okayama whisky from the Miyashita distillery saw the light of day in 2011.

Okayama Japanese Single Malt Whisky

Okayama whisky is a rare Japanese single malt made with pure, crystal-clear water. This single malt is made from 2-row malted barley, double pot still distilled and aged for 3 years in brandy casks. On the nose, Okayama whisky offers aromas of exotic fruits, with an attack on the palate turning to mint, white pepper, coconut and mango. The finish is delicate and silky, with flavours of cereals, spices and oak. Pair Okayama Single Malt with a vine peach tarte tatin.
