This FOURSQUARE COVENANT 18 year old rum is a prestigious rum from Barbados. The term Covenant in English can be translated as Alliance or agreement.

Richard Seale offers us with this bottle of Foursquare, which is the oldest version in official bottling, a great rum resulting from the blend of rums distilled two years in a row, in 2004 and 2005 and bottled in 2023. Two years because two methods of distillation, distillation in double copper stills and in twin column stills, but only one method of aging in ex American white oak Bourbon barrels.

You will love its magnificent amber color with mahogany highlights. the nose immediately transports us into a world of exotic fruits including pineapple, mango and then raisins. the second nose reveals notes of cocoa, caramel and a spicy and peppery touch carried by notes of candied ginger.

On the palate, it is rather notes of dark chocolate and candied orange which assert themselves at first glance. Then like many very great rums, notes of burnt rubber accompany the finish.
