La Source de Vignelaure Rosé 2025 elegantly captures the sun-kissed character of Provence. Produced by Château Vignelaure, this organic Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence is a blend of 40 per cent Grenache Noir, 30 per cent Cinsault, 20 per cent Syrah and 10 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from selected plots on a very stony clay-limestone terroir.
Its pale salmon colour, enhanced by beautiful purplish highlights, promises a fresh and luminous tasting experience. The nose reveals an intense bouquet centred on citrus fruits and pink pomelo. On the palate, the wine is balanced and fresh, with good length and a finish delicately marked by vine peach.
The winemaking process prioritises direct pressing, followed by cold settling for 48 hours. Slow fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by three months’ ageing on fine lees with regular stirring. This method helps to preserve the rosé’s freshness and aromatic precision.
Description
L
La Source de Vignelaure Rosé 2025 is one of the signature wines in Château Vignelaure’s La Source range. This organic rosé bears the AOC Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence designation and exemplifies the fresh, elegant style sought by the estate.
The blend is based on four grape varieties: Grenache Noir (40 per cent), Cinsault (30 per cent), Syrah (20 per cent) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10 per cent). This combination produces a well-balanced rosé that is fruity, fresh and has a lovely length on the palate. The plots selected for this cuvée are planted on very stony clay-limestone soils and yield an average of 45 hl/ha.
Visually, the wine has a pale salmon colour with purplish highlights. The nose is intense and precise, dominated by citrus fruits and pink pomelo. The palate confirms this impression of freshness with a particularly pleasant balance. The finish lingers with delicate notes of vine peach, adding a fruity and indulgent touch to the whole.
Vinification is carried out by direct pressing. The juice is immediately cooled and then cold-settled for 48 hours. Slow fermentation in stainless steel vats takes place at a controlled temperature of around 17 °C. The wine is then aged for three months on fine lees with regular stirring, before bottling.
At the table, this Provence rosé offers a wealth of pairing possibilities. Château Vignelaure particularly recommends it with squid, red mullet fillet, anchoïade and seasonal vegetables. It is also excellent with grilled meats, mixed salads, fish and Mediterranean cuisine.
