The Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2023 represents one of the finest expressions of Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune. For several decades, Joseph Drouhin has been managing this vineyard according to the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture in order to preserve the identity of this exceptional terroir. The clay-limestone soils, combined with deliberately limited yields and 16 to 18 months’ ageing in French oak barrels, result in a wine of great precision and remarkable complexity.

On the nose, the bouquet is one of great finesse, blending candied lemon, Williams pear, white flowers, peach, toasted almond and fresh hazelnut. With aeration, nuances of honey, nutmeg, citron and damp stone emerge. On the palate, the texture is full-bodied, silky and perfectly balanced between richness, freshness and mineral tension.
