Description
The Vigné-Lourac Chardonnay Prestige 2023 75cl by Alain Gayrel is a distinctive French dry white wine produced in the Tarn department of Southwest France. Classified as IGP Côtes du Tarn, this elegant Chardonnay combines aromatic richness, freshness and the expressive character of clay-limestone vineyards.
The Vigné-Lourac range celebrates the history of the Gayrel family's winemaking heritage. It pays tribute to Jean-Antoine Vigné-Lourac, a member of a longstanding Gaillac winegrowing family whose estate was passed to Alain Gayrel's grandfather in the early twentieth century.
Today, Les Vignobles Gayrel continue this tradition by producing wines that highlight the individuality of grape varieties and the region's diverse terroirs.
Chardonnay Prestige 2023 is made from 100% Chardonnay, a grape variety renowned for its versatility and ability to reflect local growing conditions.
The vineyards are situated on clay-limestone soils in the Tarn, providing favourable conditions for the development of balanced, aromatic white wines.
The grapes are grown according to High Environmental Value (HVE) environmental principles, reflecting the estate's commitment to responsible vineyard management.
Following harvesting, the grapes undergo direct pressing and static settling of the must. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures to preserve the delicate fruit and floral aromas.
The wine is matured using fresh oak chips, contributing subtle additional complexity while maintaining its characteristic freshness.
In the glass, Chardonnay Prestige 2023 displays a bright golden-yellow colour with green highlights.
The nose reveals delicate floral and fruity aromas, complemented by refreshing lemon notes. Subtle hints of hazelnut and fresh butter add depth and an appealing richness.
On the palate, the wine is full and expressive, offering a naturally generous structure without heaviness. Its refreshing acidity provides balance and contributes to a long, harmonious finish.
A remarkable price-pleasure ratio!!
