This vintage pays tribute to Mrs. Lucie Peyraud (Lulu) who died in 2020 at the age of 103 and to her husband Lucien. They are at the origin of the great history of Domaine Tempier. It is now the classic vintage of the Domaine.

Depending on the vintage, it will consist of 70% to 75% Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault and a bit of very old Carignan.

The result is a fruity and balanced Bandol whose aromas evolve towards notes of leather and undergrowth with a few years of cellaring.

This so-called “classic” vintage is also made up of different terroirs from the estate.

The winemaking work is carried out after a total destemming using native yeasts. The fermentation time varies between 15 days to 3 weeks under regulated temperature in stainless steel or concrete vats.

The aging lasts, depending on the vintage, from 18 to 20 months, in oak barrels with volumes ranging from 25 to 75 hl. Malolactic fermentation takes place during this period. These different sizes of casks make it possible to finely measure the presence of wood in the final vintage.
