Do you know this French Bellevoye Whisky distillery?

Founded in 2013 by two French enthusiasts, Alexandre Sirech and Jean Moueix. They were willing to do anything to demonstrate French know-how and in particular the good terroir of France. Their aim is to make 100% French whisky. Working with other French distilleries as suppliers of raw materials, the whisky is then blended and finished in Charente. Bellevoye offers a range of whiskies demonstrating the very best that France has to offer, including whiskies aged in Sauternes, Calvados and Saint-Emilion casks, as well as peated whiskies from Alsace. This exclusive whisky is served at the Elysée Palace.

Tasting this Bellevoye Vert Whisky Finition Fût de Calvados

This is the first pure French triple malt matured in old Calvados casks. The blend is slightly peaty. The Calvados casks are forty years old. This whisky is a beautiful tawny colour. The nose has a beautiful, strong aromatic palette. The malt is smoky, with aromas of baked apples. The nose has subtle spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg with its long ageing revealing orange peel and roasted pineapple. The palate has a rich, nutty texture. It is full and invigorating with its saline freshness. The finish is long, revealing persistent aromas of precious wood.
