Les Blancs Closeaux 2023 is a dry white wine from the Chinon appellation in France’s Loire Valley. Produced by Pierre et Bertrand Couly, it is made entirely from Chenin Blanc grown on clay-limestone soils. The wine combines aromatic freshness with a rounded texture and a mineral finish, showcasing a less familiar side of Chinon, an appellation often associated with red wines.

Its pale golden colour displays youthful green highlights. The nose offers white flowers, acacia and honey, followed by delicate fruit notes. On the palate, fresh peach flavours are balanced by a lively acidity, generous texture and a mineral, slightly saline finish. Ageing on the lees with regular bâtonnage helps build volume and smoothness while preserving the grape’s freshness.

This versatile dry white is an excellent match for grilled or gently cooked fish, scallops, seafood, asparagus and goat’s cheese. It can also be served as an aperitif. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to appreciate its aromatic precision and balanced structure.
