Château Le Pin Beausoleil Petit Soleil 2020: a modern, fruity and elegant Bordeaux

Situated in Saint-Vincent-de-Pertignas, near Saint-Émilion, Château Le Pin Beausoleil benefits from a clay-limestone terroir renowned for producing wines of great finesse. For many years, Stéphane Derenoncourt has been guiding the estate in its pursuit of excellence, favouring minimal intervention in winemaking and the perfect expression of the terroir.

The 2020 vintage is a blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Following a hand-harvest, the grapes ferment in concrete vats with a maceration period of around twenty-seven days. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in vats help to preserve the fruit’s full vibrancy and a great aromatic freshness.

The colour is deep, a garnet red with purplish highlights. The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet and liquorice, accompanied by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the attack is round and generous. The tannins are supple and silky, perfectly balanced by a lovely freshness that extends into a fruity and elegant finish.

Served at between 16 and 18 °C, this Bordeaux Supérieur is the ideal accompaniment to a rib of beef, duck breast, roast veal, grilled meats, duck confit, slow-cooked dishes or mature cheeses.
