The manufacturing process for this vodka dates back to 1879, but whose brand dates back to 1979. At the end of the 1970s, Lars Lindmark, director of the state monopoly, decided to export an extra pure vodka to the United States in 1979 to the occasion of the centenary of the invention of the thermal rectification method and the construction of the Ahus distillery. The design of the first bottles of Vodka exported to the USA conveyed the Viking values ​​associated with Sweden. Advertiser Gunnar Broman understood that these worn-out codes had to be broken and chose to convey values ​​of purity, simplicity and perfection by using an old pharmacy bottle with blue "medical" lettering. The legend of Absolut Vodka was born.
