Vodka RENAISSANCE French Vodka 70 cl

Vodka RENAISSANCE French Vodka 70 cl

Renaissance French Vodka: Wheat-Based Spirit Distilled in the Cognac Region

Renaissance Vodka is a French wheat vodka produced in Charente-Maritime, in the Cognac region of western France. Distributed by Maison Villevert, it is made exclusively from French-grown wheat and distilled using a column still.

The production process creates a rectified wheat spirit at 96.4% ABV before it is diluted to its final bottling strength of 37.5% ABV.

Renaissance is characterised by a delicate aromatic profile and a smooth, silky texture.

The nose offers light toasted cereal notes, accompanied by subtle floral and fruity impressions. The palate begins with a fresh, lively attack before developing a softer texture.

Hints of toasted almond and tonka bean lead into a gentle finish with milky and vanilla-like notes.

Its relatively neutral character makes Renaissance suitable for classic vodka cocktails, including the Moscow Mule, Cosmopolitan and Vodka Martini.

It can also be served chilled and neat, particularly alongside smoked fish and savoury appetisers.

Presented in a 70 cl bottle, Renaissance offers a French interpretation of wheat vodka, combining traditional grain distillation with a delicate and balanced tasting profile.

Description

Renaissance Vodka by Maison Villevert: French Wheat and Column Distillation

Renaissance Vodka is a French spirit made from wheat grown entirely in France. Produced in Charente-Maritime, within the wider Cognac region, it is part of the spirits portfolio distributed by Maison Villevert.

The Cognac region has a longstanding association with distillation, particularly through its famous grape-based brandies. The area also provides facilities and technical expertise for producing other spirits, including grain vodka.

Renaissance uses French wheat as its agricultural raw material. Wheat is widely used in vodka production because it can provide a clean spirit with subtle cereal notes and a relatively soft texture.

During production, the grain is processed to make its starch available for fermentation. Yeast then converts the resulting sugars into alcohol, producing a fermented liquid suitable for distillation.

The alcohol is distilled in a column still in Charente-Maritime. This process produces a rectified wheat spirit at 96.4% ABV.

Column distillation allows the producer to concentrate the alcohol and carefully control the composition of the distillate. The spirit is subsequently diluted to its final strength of 37.5% ABV.

The finished vodka is clear and designed to offer a smooth, balanced profile rather than pronounced aromatic intensity.

The nose begins with delicate toasted cereal aromas. Light floral and fruity notes contribute to its subtle character.

On the palate, Renaissance has a fresh initial impression, followed by a silky texture. Toasted almond and tonka bean nuances introduce gentle roasted and sweet-spice sensations.

The finish develops milky and vanilla-like notes, giving the spirit a soft conclusion.

This restrained aromatic profile makes Renaissance particularly versatile in cocktails. In a Vodka Martini, it combines with dry vermouth while allowing the citrus garnish to remain expressive.

In a Moscow Mule, it provides an alcoholic base without overwhelming the ginger and lime. A Cosmopolitan highlights its compatibility with cranberry and citrus flavours.

It can also be used in an Espresso Martini, where its relatively neutral character allows the coffee aromas to take centre stage.

For a simpler preparation, Renaissance may be served chilled with ice, soda water and a twist of lemon. Neat tasting is another option for appreciating its cereal notes and soft mouthfeel.

Its delicate profile can complement smoked salmon, blinis, seafood appetisers and other savoury dishes traditionally served with vodka.

Renaissance illustrates a style of French vodka built around locally sourced wheat, column distillation and a balanced flavour profile suited to both neat serving and mixology.
