Description

THOMPSON Brothers GLENROTHES SPEYSIDE 11 year old whisky distilled at the end of 2010 and put into second fill casks, then spent 8 months in Oloroso Sherry casks at the beginning of 2011. This Glenrothes cask produced 314 bottles in 2022 at 53.6°.

The nose offers fine notes of caramel and caramel milk chocolate, candied fruit and vanilla cream, followed by hints of toast, tobacco and leather. The palate is unctuous, almost oily, with hints of jammy fruit, dried fruit and brown sugar. Spicy notes of cinnamon, pepper, cloves and nutmeg follow. The finish is well-balanced between spices, sherry notes, candied fruit and the woody notes found when tasting old Armagnacs.
