Black Bottle Blended Scotch Whisky is a Scottish whisky with a history dating back to 1879, when brothers Charles, David and Gordon Graham created the blend in Aberdeen. The brand takes its name from the distinctive black glass bottle in which the whisky was originally presented.

Black Bottle combines malt whiskies with grain whisky to create a blend that balances smoky character with sweeter, rounded flavours. The current recipe includes peated malts from Islay, complemented by unpeated malts and grain whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks. This combination gives the whisky a recognisable profile in which wood smoke meets honey, sea salt and charred toffee.

On the nose, smoky oak is accompanied by floral notes and a touch of sweetness. The palate develops layers of dry wood smoke, caramel and spice, with a savoury hint of sea salt. The finish retains the smoky character, together with lingering notes of toasted caramel. Rather than relying on peat alone, Black Bottle brings together contrasting elements of smoke, sweetness and oak.

This blended Scotch can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water if desired, or used in cocktails where its smoky character adds depth.
