Description
Apremont is one of the best-known wines from the Vin de Savoie appellation. Made from Jacquère, the iconic white grape variety of the Savoie vineyards, it is characterised by a dry, fresh and delicately aromatic profile. Cave de Cruet, based in the Combe de Savoie, showcases this regional identity through a white wine that is equally suited to an aperitif or everyday meals.
In the glass, its pale colour hints at a wine brimming with freshness. The nose evokes white flowers and citrus fruits, with distinct lemony notes. On the palate, the attack is lively and the mineral character lingers on the finish. Depending on the cuvée and vintage, a slight effervescence can enhance its thirst-quenching quality. Its style emphasises the freshness and purity of the fruit rather than power or oak.
This Apremont is a natural choice to accompany grilled fish, fillets of féra or perch, seafood and shellfish. It also pairs well with Savoyard cheese-based specialities: fondue, raclette or tartiflette. Its liveliness provides a pleasant contrast to the creaminess and richness of these dishes.
To fully appreciate its aromas, serve it at between 8 and 10 °C. It is generally best enjoyed young, when its fruitiness and freshness are at their most expressive. This Apremont from Cave de Cruet is therefore a fine introduction to Savoy white wines and a convivial choice for discovering the Jacquère grape variety.
