Riise XO Royal Reserve Kong Haakon, this expression honours the friendship between the future King Haakon VII of Norway and Valdemar Riise. Their connection began in the late nineteenth century in the Danish West Indies, and the blend celebrates this shared history through a spirit inspired by the Caribbean.
Selected distillates from renowned Caribbean and Central American producers are blended and matured in oak casks. The resulting amber spirit offers a rounded, aromatic style. Vanilla, coconut and buttery caramel lead the nose, followed by a suggestion of caramelised apple cake and a delicate floral nuance. Coconut comes forward on the palate, while vanilla and caramel continue into a lingering finish balanced by a touch of orange peel.
