Akashi Meïsei is a Japanese blended whisky produced by the Eigashima Distillery, located in Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture. This historic distillery, also known as White Oak, is one of the pioneers of Japanese whisky: it was granted a whisky distilling licence in 1919. With the Akashi range, it combines methods inspired by the Scottish tradition with Japanese craftsmanship.

Meïsei is a blend of malt and grain whisky. Its recipe contains 45 per cent malted barley, and its maturation in American oak casks contributes to its warm aromatic profile. The wood enhances the development of vanilla and spicy notes, whilst adding depth to the overall flavour.

A smooth, oaky tasting experience

On the nose, Akashi Meïsei is rich and deep, with aromas of oak and vanilla. The palate is round and supple, characterised by spices and harmonious woody nuances. The elegant finish prolongs the oak notes and highlights the balance of this Japanese blended whisky.

With an ABV of 40% and available in a 50 cl bottle, it can be enjoyed neat at room temperature to best appreciate its aromas. A few drops of water also allow you to explore its nuances.
