RØØF24 TRIANGLE Organic Rye Whisky The Art of Blending and Finishing

RØØF24 TRIANGLE represents Domaine des Hautes Glaces' second exploration of the influence of finishing on the taste of its whiskies. This 100% malted single rye is the result of a blend of several vintages and the estate's two iconic terroirs: Gabert and Vulson, located in the Trièves region, with contrasting climates. After a long maturation in Cognac casks, which gives it notes of vanilla, dried fruit and a woody roundness, this rye was aged for five months in Côtes de Duras red wine casks – a first for the distillery, which usually uses white wine casks.

This bold finish adds extra complexity, with aromas of candied red fruits (morello cherry, blackberry), liquorice and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, its creamy texture reveals flavours of black cherry, dark chocolate, and a sweet, lingering spice typical of rye. The long, balanced finish leaves an impression of noble wood and ripe fruit, where the tannins of the red wine harmonise perfectly with the peppery power of the rye.
