Etsu Double Yuzu Limited Edition Japanese Gin 70cl is produced at the Akita distillery on Honshū Island, Japan.
This special 2026 edition features a distinctive bottle containing a decorative hand-blown glass yuzu, beautifully crafted in golden-yellow tones.
The gin combines six botanicals: Japanese yuzu, juniper berries, liquorice root, angelica root, coriander seeds and matcha green tea.
These ingredients undergo seven days of maceration before the liquid is distilled without the botanicals.
Water sourced from the Ōu Mountains is then used to bring the gin to 43% ABV.
The nose reveals fresh yuzu and lemon zest, complemented by subtle herbal notes.
The palate is vibrant and citrus-driven, with gentle spice, juniper and a rounded finish.
This limited edition is particularly enjoyable in a Gin and Tonic, served with a neutral premium tonic and fresh citrus peel.
Its decorative bottle also makes an attractive gift for collectors of Japanese spirits.
Description
A Special Edition Celebrating Japanese Yuzu
Etsu Double Yuzu Limited Edition 2026 is a Japanese gin that combines distinctive citrus flavours with an exceptional bottle design.
This collectible expression features a hand-blown glass yuzu placed inside the bottle, with a whole fruit and a decorative slice in luminous golden-yellow glass.
The presentation follows previous limited editions in the Etsu collection, including Sakura and Pacific Ocean Water.
The gin itself retains the established Double Yuzu recipe, making the decorative bottle the principal distinction of this special release.
Distilled in Akita, Northern Japan
Etsu Double Yuzu is produced at the Akita distillery, located in northern Honshū.
The region extends from the Sea of Japan towards the Ōu Mountains.
Fresh water sourced from these mountains is used after distillation, contributing to the gin's clean and refreshing character.
Six Carefully Selected Botanicals
Japanese yuzu provides the signature citrus aromas.
Juniper berries contribute the traditional botanical structure associated with gin.
Liquorice root brings roundness, while angelica root introduces subtle earthy notes.
Coriander seeds add aromatic spice, and matcha green tea provides a delicate herbal dimension.
Together, these six ingredients create a distinctive balance between citrus freshness, botanical complexity and gentle sweetness.
Seven Days of Maceration
The botanicals are macerated for seven days before distillation.
They are then removed, allowing the infused liquid to be distilled without the plant materials.
The resulting spirit is diluted with water from the Ōu Mountains to reach 43% alcohol by volume.
This process is designed to preserve the clarity and finesse of the botanical aromas.
Appearance and Tasting Notes
Etsu Double Yuzu is clear and transparent.
The nose opens with vibrant aromas of Japanese yuzu, fresh lemon and citrus peel.
Subtle herbal notes from matcha and gentle botanical spice add complexity.
On the palate, the gin is refreshing and lively, with pronounced citrus flavours.
Juniper provides structure, while liquorice and the other botanicals contribute balance.
The finish is rounded, smooth and delicately zesty.
Serving Suggestions
Etsu Double Yuzu is especially well suited to a classic Gin and Tonic.
Serve with plenty of ice, a neutral premium tonic and a twist of lemon or yuzu peel.
Its citrus character also works beautifully in a Gin Fizz, Collins or citrus-led Martini.
The distinctive hand-blown glass decoration makes this limited edition an appealing gift for Japanese gin enthusiasts and collectors.
