Normindia Pamplemousse Domaine du Coquerel: an artisanal gin with citrus notes

Domaine du Coquerel, renowned for its Calvados since 1937, has poured all its expertise into creating the Normindia range. Normindia Grapefruit is crafted from a base of French wheat spirit, in which several carefully selected botanicals are macerated separately. Distillation takes place in a traditional still used for Calvados, giving the gin an elegant, fruity character. For this version, fresh grapefruit segments are incorporated into the recipe to accentuate the natural freshness of the citrus whilst maintaining the balance of spices and Normandy apple.

The colour is perfectly clear. The nose reveals intense aromas of pink grapefruit, fresh orange, crisp apple and juniper. As it breathes, notes of coriander, ginger, cinnamon and a hint of florality emerge, adding great complexity. On the palate, the attack is lively and fruity. Citrus flavours dominate, with a pleasant bitterness characteristic of grapefruit, quickly balanced by the sweetness of the apple and the spices. The finish is long, fresh and particularly thirst-quenching.

Enjoy neat, on the rocks or as a Gin and Tonic with a premium tonic and a slice of fresh grapefruit. It also makes an excellent base for a reimagined Paloma, a Gin Fizz or a gin Spritz. This gin pairs perfectly with tapas, seafood, marinated fish and Mediterranean cuisine.
