Kwak Ambrée 75 cl: a historic Belgian beer with rich flavours

Kwak Ambrée is a distinctive Belgian beer that holds a special place in the world of brewing. Brewed by the Bosteels brewery, based in Buggenhout, Belgium, this top-fermented beer stands out for its luminous amber colour, its dense, velvety head and its rich aroma. With an alcohol content of 8.4°, it perfectly embodies the style of strong Belgian amber beers, where the richness of the malt meets a beautiful complexity of flavour.

Its history is closely linked to Pauwel Kwak, an 18th-century innkeeper and brewer. According to tradition, he is said to have devised a special glass that allowed coachmen to drink without leaving their carriages. Inspired by this story, Kwak beer was created in 1982 by Ivo Bosteels, complete with its famous glass featuring a wooden stand.

On tasting, Kwak reveals a pale amber colour topped with a generous head. Its aroma reveals rich notes of biscuit and malt, accompanied by fruity hints of banana and orange marmalade. On the palate, caramel lends a warm roundness, whilst spicy undertones gradually enrich the overall flavour profile. Its finish is characterised by a delicate bitterness that pleasantly balances the richness of the flavours.

This Belgian amber beer is the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, roast poultry, mature cheeses or lightly spiced dishes. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif, for a convivial tasting experience.

To fully appreciate its aromatic qualities, serve Kwak at between 6 and 9 °C, preferably in its traditional glass. Its 75 cl bottle is ideal for sharing an authentic and original Belgian beer.
