Description
With its Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Beaumonts 2025, Domaine Martin-Dufour offers a cuvée that epitomises the style of this Côte de Beaune appellation: a red wine characterised by fruit, freshness and refined tannins. Chorey-lès-Beaune is situated near Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, in an area renowned for producing elegant and delicious Pinot Noirs. The ‘Les Beaumonts’ vineyard is a significant plot within the estate, comprising several vineyards of varying ages.
The estate cultivates several plots here, which are blended into a single cuvée. The available information on Les Beaumonts highlights relatively deep and well-drained soils. This contributes to giving the wine a balanced character, combining fruit and finesse. Pinot Noir remains at the heart of the tasting experience, without any attempt at excessive power.
The nose reveals a particularly alluring array of red fruits, notably cherry and raspberry, to which hints of blackberry and violet may be added. The palate is characterised by its supple and delicate texture. The fine tannins complement the fruit without overpowering it and provide an elegant structure. Previous vintages of this cuvée have notably been aged in oak barrels, with the wood harmoniously integrated; however, as the estate has not published specific details for the 2025 vintage, it is best not to attribute a precise ageing period to the 2025.
This 2025 red Burgundy can be enjoyed now after a little aeration or laid down for a few years. The estate recommends an optimal ageing period of 3 to 7 years for this cuvée. At the table, it will pair perfectly with duck breast, grilled rib of beef, roast poultry, a terrine or a platter of mature cheeses.
