Description

Bordeaux wine from Crésus

The Crésus estate is located in the Bordeaux region, in the village of Sainte-Terre just outside the famous Saint-Emilion appellation. Crésus is a small estate of 6 hectares producing Merlot and just over 30,000 bottles a year. The vines on the estate are on average 45 years old and are currently being converted to organic farming.

Crésus Red 2021

This red wine is a single-varietal wine, made from Merlot, the only grape variety grown on the estate. The 2021 vintage is aged 2/3 in stainless steel vats and 1/3 in wooden barrels for 12 to 18 months. The ageing of Crésus gives it an intense ruby colour with a woody, fruity nose. On the palate, this red wine with its aromas of red fruit is very fresh with supple tannins. This Bordeaux red wine goes wonderfully with grilled red meats or, more surprisingly, fish.
