This Pimm's drink is the ultimate English aperitif, based on Gin, Pimm's n ° 1 is consumed like syrup, 1/5 of Pimm's lengthened with lemonade + red summer fruits.
Pimm's is popular in England. It is the summer drink, during major social events of the season, such as the Glyndebourn opera festival, The Wimbledon Grass Tennis Tournament, The Royal Ascot or Henley Royal Regatta in rowing. There were 6 different kinds of Pimm's:
Pimm's N ° 1 made with Gin
Pimm's N ° 2 made from whiskey
Pimm's N ° 3 based on Brandy
Pimm's N ° 4 based on Rum
Pimm's N ° 5 made from rye alcohol
Pimm's N ° 6 made from Vodka
Pimm's 2 to 5 are no longer sold;
A variant of Pimm's N ° 3 is produced again since 2005 under the name of Pimm's Winter Cup, which is served hot with apple juice, in winter.
