VRMH N°1 is an alcohol-free aperitif developed by the French brand JNPR, which specialises in creating botanical alternatives to traditional spirits and cocktail ingredients.

The brand's name is derived from juniper berries, reflecting the importance of botanical flavours in its range.

With VRMH N°1, JNPR has turned its attention to the distinctive taste of Italian red vermouth.

Traditional vermouth is an aromatised wine incorporating herbs, spices and bitter botanicals. It is widely used in classic cocktails, particularly the Negroni, Americano and Manhattan.

JNPR's objective was to recreate the aromatic complexity of this category without alcohol.

The result is a beverage made from a base of 59% dealcoholised wine, complemented by carefully selected botanical ingredients.

The wine component provides grape flavours, while lemon and wormwood contribute citrus and herbal characteristics.

Apple and spice hydrosols add aromatic depth, and juniper introduces a botanical note associated with traditional European spirits.

An infusion of quassia amara contributes bitterness, an important element in balancing the sweeter components of the recipe.

Hydrosols are aromatic waters obtained during the distillation of plants. They allow producers to incorporate botanical flavours into non-alcoholic beverages.

For an Americano-style drink, VRMH can be mixed with an alcohol-free bitter, sparkling water and ice.

Another serving suggestion is the VRMH & Soda, made with 45 ml of VRMH N°1, 100 ml of sparkling water or sugar-free tonic and a twist of orange peel.

The brand indicates that a 70 cl bottle provides enough liquid for more than fifteen cocktails.
