Description
Created in 1837 by Gaétan Picon, Picon Amer has become a true institution in the world of aperitifs. Its iconic recipe is based on a maceration of bitter and sweet orange peel, combined with gentian, cinchona and a selection of aromatic herbs. This combination gives it a remarkable balance between freshness, aromatic intensity and a slight bitterness.
On the nose, Picon Amer reveals aromas of candied orange, citrus zest and herbs, enhanced by slightly spicy notes. On the palate, the attack is lively and expressive. Flavours of bitter orange dominate elegantly before giving way to the herbal nuances of gentian and a long, delicately bitter and refreshing finish.
Traditionally enjoyed with a lager to make the famous Picon Bière, it also pairs well with a dry white wine, a crémant or an original cocktail. Its versatility and unique flavour profile make it an essential part of any convivial aperitif.
Available in a generous 1-litre bottle, Picon Amer perfectly meets the expectations of lovers of traditional recipes and establishments wishing to offer an aperitif that is emblematic of France’s heritage.
