The Moscato d’Asti Piccole Gioie from Azienda Agricola Ghione is a sweet, delicately sparkling white wine that is emblematic of the Italian region of Piedmont. Made from 100% Muscat Blanc de Canelli, this Moscato d’Asti DOCG captivates with its particularly expressive aromatic profile. The nose evokes peach, white flowers and exotic fruits, whilst the palate reveals a soft, creamy texture accompanied by a balanced freshness. With its low alcohol content of around 5 to 5.5 per cent, Piccole Gioie is the perfect accompaniment to desserts and fruit, or can simply be enjoyed as an aperitif.
Description
The Moscato d’Asti Piccole Gioie from Azienda Agricola Ghione is a cuvée that perfectly showcases the aromatic character of Muscat Blanc de Canelli. Produced in Piedmont, around Canelli, this Moscato d’Asti DOCG is part of a long-standing family winemaking tradition. The Ghione estate uses only its own grapes and oversees every stage of production directly, paying particular attention to expressing the terroir and the finesse of the wines.
The sole grape variety used in this cuvée is Muscat Blanc de Canelli, a variety particularly renowned for its aromatic qualities. The grapes are grown on calcareous marl soils rich in minerals, with a south-facing aspect at an altitude of around 400 metres. This combination contributes to the wine’s freshness and aromatic richness.
In the glass, Piccole Gioie displays a straw-yellow colour that can reveal delicate golden highlights. The nose is immediately expressive, with aromas of peach, white flowers and citrus, complemented by hints of sage and exotic fruits. On the palate, the wine is sweet, lively and creamy, with a lovely freshness that balances the sweetness. The finish offers indulgent notes of honey and pastry.
With its fine effervescence and moderate alcohol content, Moscato d’Asti Piccole Gioie is particularly enjoyable when served at between 7 and 10 °C. It pairs naturally with desserts, fresh fruit, pastries and ice cream. It can also be served as an aperitif for a light and convivial tasting experience.
