Description
Delord 1976 in a wooden case: a vintage Armagnac for special occasions
A vintage Armagnac does not merely tell the story of a spirit: it also evokes a specific year, often linked to a personal or family memory. The Delord 1976 Bas-Armagnac is particularly well-suited to this symbolic dimension. Its vintage makes it an ideal gift for a birthday, a family reunion, a wedding anniversary or a professional celebration.
Based in Lannepax, in the Gers, Maison Delord has been producing Armagnacs since 1893. Its craft is founded on mastery of distillation and ageing in oak casks, which allows the eaux-de-vie to develop over time. The vintage Armagnacs are a unique expression of this expertise: each harvest retains its own identity, unlike blends designed to reproduce a consistent profile from one year to the next.
The 1976 vintage is characterised by a delicate and complex nose, combining vanilla, cocoa and hints of rancio. On the palate, the clean, rounded attack reveals nuances of fresh fruit, liquorice and lime blossom. This balance between aromatic freshness, spices and mature notes offers a nuanced tasting experience, to be savoured at a leisurely pace.
For serving, opt for a tulip-shaped glass and serve at room temperature. A few minutes’ aeration can help the aromas to develop. This Armagnac can be enjoyed on its own as a digestif, or paired with dark chocolate or a dessert featuring dried fruit. It will also take its place in a collection of vintage spirits.
The 70 cl bottle is presented in a wooden case, a packaging that enhances its traditional and prestigious character. The case may, however, vary depending on stock availability.
