Description

This Don Papa GAYUMA Rum is one of those rums that Dom Papa offers with a special ageing process. For this version, this Don Papa Gayuma rum was aged for 3 years in Bourbon casks, then spent 6 months in casks of Spanish Rioja wine under very high heat, which accelerates the exchange between the rum and the wood. Finally, it spent 3 months in casks of Islay Scotch whisky.

On tasting, this fine rum begins with a deep, intense amber colour. The nose is slightly peaty, the hallmark of the latest ageing. Then notes of vanilla and spices emerge with finesse. On the palate, the vanilla and cinnamon notes are confirmed, followed by cloves and cocoa. The finish is fairly fresh, with notes of mint and citrus fruit with a hint of smoke.
