High Coast Aurora 46°: an elegant and intensely aromatic Swedish whisky

High Coast Aurora perfectly exemplifies the expertise of this Swedish distillery, renowned for its precise and exceptionally pure single malts. It is matured in a blend of approximately 50 per cent bourbon casks, 35 per cent Pedro Ximénez casks and 15 per cent Oloroso casks, complemented by a subtle peaty influence that adds lovely depth without overpowering the overall profile.

Its colour is a magnificent honey-gold with amber highlights. The nose opens with aromas of ripe pear, vanilla sugar, candied cherry and milk chocolate. On the palate, flavours of gooseberry, raisin, dried papaya and Earl Grey tea blend harmoniously with notes of malt, honey and sweet spices. The finish is long, elegant and slightly oaky, revealing notes of apple, cedar and a subtle hint of tobacco.

Best enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water or over a large ice cube, this Swedish single malt also pairs well with dark chocolate, dried fruit, an apple dessert or a platter of mature cheeses.
