Jean Michel Gerin’s Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places 2023 embodies all the excellence of the great red wines of the northern Rhône Valley. This prestigious cuvée is made from 100% Syrah sourced from an iconic plot located in the Les Grandes Places area of Côte-Rôtie. The old vines planted on soils of micaschist and iron oxides lend the wine depth, finesse and great aromatic complexity.
The nose reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, liquorice and cocoa, accompanied by delicate smoky and spicy notes. On the palate, this Syrah reveals a full-bodied and refined texture supported by powerful yet elegant tannins. Barrel ageing for nearly twenty months reinforces the structure and aromatic depth whilst preserving the wine’s natural balance.
This 2023 Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places is the perfect accompaniment to grilled red meats, game, roast duck or refined dishes served with sauce.
