With ‘On Dirait Le Sud’, Brasserie Sauvage and Brasserie Toussaint have created a collaborative beer brimming with freshness and originality. This Saison, with an ABV of 5.6%, draws inspiration from a summery, southern European vibe through the use of Corsican clementines and fennel.
On the nose, the clementine comes through with a lovely citrus freshness. On the palate, the fruit gradually gives way to fennel, which adds a herbal note with a delicate hint of aniseed. This unusual combination gives the beer a particularly distinctive character, whilst retaining the thirst-quenching qualities of a Saison.
The result is an expressive, fresh craft beer that’s easy to enjoy as an aperitif or during a social gathering. The 75 cl bottle is particularly well suited to sharing amongst lovers of original beers. ‘On Dirait Le Sud’ also pairs well with summer salads, grilled meats, fish, poultry or Mediterranean cuisine.
Description
On Dirait Le Sud perfectly illustrates the appeal of collaborative beers: bringing together two brewers’ expertise around an original and evocative recipe. Brewed by Brasserie Sauvage in collaboration with Brasserie Toussaint, this 5.6% Saison plays the freshness card with a combination that is as surprising as it is appealing: Corsican clementines and fennel.
The clementine brings a fruity, tangy character that immediately evokes citrus fruits and sunny days. Fennel complements this profile with herbal notes and a hint of aniseed. Tasters particularly note the presence of clementine on the nose, followed by fennel on the palate, with a finish that lingers on this original aromatic combination.
Classified as a Saison / Farmhouse Ale, On Dirait Le Sud captures the essence of top-fermented beers that are fresh, dry and thirst-quenching. It’s a particularly interesting choice for fans of French craft beers looking for something other than a traditional beer.
Its 75 cl bottle makes it the perfect beer to share with friends. It pairs beautifully with an aperitif, tapas, Mediterranean cuisine, grilled fish, shellfish, a mixed salad or even slightly spicy dishes. Served well chilled, it reveals its full aromatic profile and summery character.
