AYALA Brut Majeur Champagne in a 1.5-litre magnum embodies the pure and balanced style of the House of AYALA, founded in 1860. This non-vintage cuvée blends three Champagne grape varieties: 55 per cent Chardonnay, 30 per cent Pinot Noir and 15 per cent Meunier. Its blend comprises around 70 crus, sourced from the great terroirs of Champagne. Aged in the cellar for an average of three years on the lees, it features an Extra-Brut dosage of 6 g/l, which preserves its freshness and precision. The nose reveals notes of citrus, white fruits and delicate flowers. On the palate, it is lively, balanced and fruity, with a lingering finish. The magnum bottle is ideal for special occasions and festive meals.
Description
Founded in Aÿ in 1860, the House of AYALA has built its reputation on a quest for purity and balance. Its Brut Majeur in magnum bottle expresses this identity through a non-vintage blend combining wines from different years and a wide variety of Champagne terroirs.
The current cuvée is based predominantly on Chardonnay, accounting for 55 per cent, complemented by 30 per cent Pinot Noir and 15 per cent Meunier. This blend offers a harmonious combination of aromatic finesse, freshness and structure. The grapes come from around 70 crus spread across several sectors of Champagne. Each cru, each grape variety and each vintage is vinified separately in small stainless-steel tanks, in order to preserve their characteristics and allow for precise blending.
The champagne is aged on its lees for an average of three years. This ageing process encourages the development of aromas and refines the effervescence. Its dosage of 6 g/l emphasises the fruit and freshness without masking the personality of the terroirs.
On tasting, its pale gold colour is accompanied by fine effervescence. The nose, expressive and delicate, evokes citrus fruits, white flowers and white-fleshed fruits. On the palate, it is balanced and fresh, displaying lovely aromatic precision and a lingering finish, characterised by freshness and vinous character.
Serve it at around 10 °C in a tulip-shaped glass. It is perfect as an aperitif and also pairs well with oysters, shellfish, white fish, roast poultry or a cheese platter. The 1.5-litre magnum is particularly well-suited to festive meals, receptions and large gatherings.
