Maison Jean Cavé is an integral part of Armagnac’s history. Founded in 1883 in Lannepax, in the Gers, it draws on a long tradition of blending and ageing Gascony eaux-de-vie. Its VSOP Armagnac, bottled in a 1.5-litre Ariane bottle, is a testament to this expertise and offers an accessible and indulgent expression of this great French eau-de-vie.

The designation VSOP, which stands for Very Superior Old Pale, indicates that the youngest eau-de-vie used in the blend has been aged for at least four years in oak casks. During this maturation process, contact with the wood helps to develop the colour, roundness and aromatic nuances of the Armagnac.

On tasting, its mahogany colour with coppery highlights catches the eye. The nose opens with notes of candied citrus, vanilla and gentle spices. On the palate, the smooth attack reveals notes of fresh fruit, honey and prunes, accompanied by a hint of orange zest that adds a touch of freshness. The overall profile is warm and balanced, making it particularly well-suited to enjoying after a meal.
